President -- calls and presides over all meetings. Represents the organization to all outside groups, and formulates the meeting agendas in a timely manner.
Vice-President -- takes over in the absence of the president. Assists in the formulation of the agenda.
President-Elect -- represents the organization when the president is unable to function if the position is in effect (president-elect is elected one year prior to end of term of current president).
Secretary/Treasurer -- keeps the minutes of all meetings, maintains the membership list, completes all correspondence of the organization. Handles all financial transactions, including the NCEA Convention booth arrangements.
The organization will meet twice each year:
The agenda for the NCEA meeting will be set at the CACE meeting.
The agenda for the CACE meeting will be set at the NCEA meeting.
There will be one vote given to each member institution in all elections. All issues including the election of officers will be by a simple majority. For the election of officers, the first ballot of each election will be the nominating ballot. The second ballot will be the election ballot. If a third ballot is necessary it will be by plurality. Any representative of a member institution is eligible to be a candidate for office.
Under normal circumstances, the term of office shall be for 3 years. If, for any reason, a position is vacated before a term is completed the highest ranking officer will conduct an election. The replacement will serve only for the duration of that term. If the president's position is vacated, the vice-president will assume the role, and a replacement will be elected to complete the term of the vice-president.
Meeting dues will be determined/reviewed at the NCEA business meeting.
The ACLP institution will be affiliated with CACE.
